Here are 5 simple tips to elicit more cooperation from your kids, and get kids to listen - without yelling.
Love is the best language.
- Get On Their Level
Don’t start talking until you have all the attention of your child. It also helps to get down to their eye level so that you are in their eyesight.
- Use Fewer Words
Children understand short and simple sentences better that give direct instructions rather than too long sentences. It takes them time to process those.
- Set Up Routines
It’s important to establish a set routine for your child. They will try to follow it because they know they will receive praise from you for it. It also helps them in life ahead.
- Offer Choices
Kids do not want to be told what to do always. Provide them with options sometimes so they also feel like they are in control sometimes.
- Positive Reinforcements
Make sure you intentionally praise and reward your children for good behavior and when they listen to directions properly. They preen under the praise.
